In search of the perfect pow line at Breck yesterday, I ran over some rocks and ended up gashing my board in a couple spots. So I handed my board over to a local shop for some serious medical attention. The lines were pretty amazing, but not quite worth the $30 weld repair. It was Baird's first day, and I showed him Vail's frontside and back bowls as best I could on skis; Mongolia & China bowls had some incredible snow leftover from the day before. During the morning session, I was pointing out our favorite tree runs and cliff drops. Baird jumped on the idea of hitting a cliff, so I scouted a nice size one on Dragon Teeth in China Bowl for him to hit after lunch. The idea waned on him during lunch, but I managed to get him to the top. Finally he said screw it and I helped him line up. "Hit it in the middle, take a 4-5' lead-in, and bend your knees for the impact", the 9 second clip after the jump......
Followed only one of my tips: "hit it in the middle".....
