My alarm went off at 7am as usual, but I opened the blinds to find rain. "Wait we're in Colorado, how can it be raining?" Doug and I said screw it, and got back into bed. But about 10 minutes later, Whitt started ruffling around downstairs getting us out off bed. With Whitt's encouragement and at least twenty minutes of studying mountain web-cams and hourly forecasts, we hoped on the bus to Vail hoping for the best. Amazingly enough, the rain changed to a light snow as we arrived at the gondola and to a whiteout-blizzard at the top of the mountain. Today's conditions were unbelievable with waist deep powder and untouched tree runs occupying our whole day. We ended up catching the last lift back from Mongolia bowl at 4. Pics after the jump....
