Day 1: Adult Arcades

Finally the semester's over, and the trip begins...
Doug & I woke up at 6am this morning finished packing the truck, turned on some ke$ha, and hit the road with no real plans besides getting to Vail.  We crossed the West Virginia boarder and caught our first glimpse of snow flurries, getting us pumped for some skiing.  Sixteen hours later, seven state line crossings, and four tanks of gas later, we're sitting here reflecting on our trip and neglecting sleep.  Things we've learned driving from Virginia to Kansas:
  1. Our 'highway construction' budget goes entirely to laying out miles & miles of cones in WV.
  2. Adult XXX theaters, superstores, bookstores, & arcades (?) have to be by far the highest percentage of stores in these states.
  3. Don't drive in MO or KS if there are icy conditions, they don't own salt. Do a google search tomorrow morning for I-70 crashes (there was a 2-mile segment with at least 30 overturned cars, police didn't know what to do besides lay out flares)
  4. Listening to 15+ hours of club music doesn't get boring.
  5. No need for caffeine if you follow #4
Hitting the road early again tomorrow, looking to make it to Vail by 5.

Slashing pow soon.
