Day 14: Calm Before the Storm

Doug and I still had an empty feeling from missing Christmas back home, but we woke up this morning to some holiday festivities prepared by our parents and sister.  After opening a couple presents and stockings, we had to get rentals and lift tickets for Mom, Dad, and Laura resulting in a bit of a late start.  The conditions were great with blue bird skies and pristine snow.  Vail has done a great job grooming the crusty layers left behind from the warm conditions late last week.  Looking ahead, the storm we've been tracking has developed nicely calling for 1-2 feet by Friday.  This could bring the epic snow we've been waiting for starting tomorrow morning:
